Wang Xiaotao, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, pointed out that the Maritime Silk Road Index is an index system used to measure the overall development level of the international shipping and trade market, reflecting the changes in the international shipping and trade market, and is composed of a series of indices such as export container tariff index, shipping economic index and Maritime Silk Road Trade Index. The Maritime Silk Road Trade Index is an important part of the Maritime Silk Road Index System, which is compiled by the National Development and Reform Commission and Ningbo Municipal People's Government under the coordination and guidance of the Office of the National Leading Group for Promoting the Construction of "One Belt and One Road", and Ningbo Shipping Exchange. Wang Xiaotao, deputy director, stressed that the release of the Maritime Silk Road Trade Index enriches the content of the Maritime Silk Road Index system, and will become one of the evaluation indicators of the implementation results of China's "One Belt and One Road" construction, which can provide information and trend judgment for the countries along the "Maritime Silk Road". It will also provide an important basis for governments to evaluate the implementation effect and policy adjustment of the "Belt and Road" initiative.
